Sales Manager Position

The Sales Manager position has a potential for growth due to Adapt8’s (Adaptive Plastic, Inc) significant growth plans, including expanded sales and marketing efforts. Position Summary

The Sales Manager leads and directs a dedicated sales team to meet and exceed business plan and performance objectives. The position is responsible for creation, implementation, and execution of strategic sales programs.

This is a dynamic position that will evolve with business needs. Roles and Responsibilities may include some or all functions listed below and will not be limited to this list.


  • Lead the sales and marketing team to accomplish sales goals
  • Develop 3 year sales plan and strategies to achieve revenue projections
  • Provide leadership and personal support, coach, guide, train sales personnel to help them meet their individual goals
  • Develop performance plans in alignment with company goals and objectives
  • Communicate clearly defined individual and group objectives
  • Train employees to do their jobs, set standards for work performance
  • Monitor performance and provide feedback to management through formal and informal means
  • Communicate and support company policies and decisions in a positive manner
  • Conduct team meetings with department employees
  • Handle employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner
  • Deeply understand the customer and help shape the complete customer experience for the department and company
  • Develop processes and policies to ensure that the brand is represented consistently with internal and external customers
  • Serve on cross-functional operations teams
  • Serve as a member of the Executive Advisory team

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Foster team work, train and develop the right people
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies
  • Develop plans to improve sales and market share
  • Create programs to track and improve sales
  • Design, implement, and manage forecasting, planning, and budgeting process in alignment with strategic plan for Sales and Marketing
  • Support sales representatives training needs
  • Develop strategies for sales representatives including monitoring customer activity
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
  • Develop and advise dealers, distributers and customers concerning sales and advertising techniques
  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales
  • Represent company at trade association and trade shows events
  • Meet with key customers, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
  • Prepares weekly sales report
  • Develop key performance indicators for the sales and marketing departments
  • Maintain and develop customer data base and work flows insuring accuracy of customer data and relevance of data for reports and analysis
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers
  • Participate in product development and product improvements
  • Travel to key states and key customers as needed
  • Assist in developing product pricing and pricing strategies

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration (Marketing & Accounting major a plus)
  • Minimum 5 Years of sales and marketing experience with minimum 2 years in sales supervision/management
  • Knowledge and experience with strategic planning and with financial analysis
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience with CRM and ERP systems
  • Experience working with dealers and distributers
  • Strong organizational skills, and a track record of execution
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Horticulture experience a plus
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
